Hoje aconteceu a primeira edição em Curitiba do South Beer Cup que foi realizado dentro do Festival Paranaense de Cervejas Artesanais. O concurso contou com mais de 30 jurados de diversas partes do mundo aonde foram responsáveis em julgar mais de 800 rótulos de 215 cervejarias de acordo com as normas da Brewers Association. De acordo com números da organização, são 215 cervejarias inscritas, vindas de 9 países: Argentina, Brasil, Chile, Costa Rica, Equador, Paraguai, Peru, Porto Rico e Uruguai. As melhores cervejas do concurso, divididas em 132 estilos diferentes. Destaques para Backer, Blondine, Bierbaum e Wäls que ganharam mais de uma medalha.
